In the valley of the Stour you will find a fine old church and it’s church tower, the centre of a small village of around a 1,000 inhabitants. A village that is recognised throughout the world. The church tower is a notable landmark in several paintings of John Constable’s. In fact it was in Dedham that he attended grammar school.
The Dedham Vale is an area of outstanding natural beauty and an area that can be enjoyed as much today as it could in Constable’s day. The village is home to an annual country fair, “The Constable Country Fair” each summer.
